Bart test- positive

I got back the test results for the Bartonella Fish test from IgeneX and it was positive.

I know how unreliable the blood work is so any thoughts around this result is appreciated.

Testing has a lot of false negatives. I’m not aware of false positives. Do you have symptoms of bartonella?

As WBF mentioned - not false positives.
I’m assuming you have symptoms of bart - that prompted you to test?

I do have some Bart symptoms for sure. I am starting on Azithromycin and Bactrim this week.

I also had a skin punch biopsy that tested positive for Small Fiber Neuropathy. My dr believes this may have been caused by Bart and/or Lyme.

The SFN symptoms are burning pain, that fortunately comes and goes, generalized skin itching that comes and goes and occasional stinging.
