Interpreting MARCONS test results/E. Coli

Hello friends.

It has been a while, I hope you are all doing better.
I got my MARCoNS test results, and it says positive for marcons - moderate amount; Biofilm weak 1+
Fungal - No yeast or mold fungi isolated
However:
E. coli - large amount

How on Earth am I going to treat this, and how could I get E.coli in sinus cavity...

Any advice much appreciated.

I tested positive for large amounts of MACoNS and EColi in my sinuses. I was prescribed an EDTA spray with colloidal silver. I did it for about a month, then my doc went on sick leave and never came back. I'm about to start nebulizing colloidal silver and an essential oils mix, rotating every other day.

It will be interesting to see what you find out. I also have marcons and a bacterial infection caught from dogs. I am going to do edta nasal spray and colloidal silver too. But not until after I have done cholestyramine for a while.

Unfortunately, I can't get EDTA here in the UK.
I learned that dr Neil Nathan now recommends not treating MARCoNS alltogether, which is interesting.
However, I don't know if he has any recommendations for treating E. Coli in sinuses.

Hoagie, do you have any symptoms? I currently have swollen lymph nodes (or whatever those hard lumps are) bellow my ear/jaw, waiting for ultrasound scan, some numbness, postnasal drip, AND currently some swelling in my mouth which is worrying me and am seeing my GP about today.

Check out some of the posts on this forum about using essential oils to treat fungi and bacteria that have colonized the sinuses. Many use them in a cheap nebulizer. When I just inhale the vapors from the bottles deeply a few times in a day, I have what feels like a chest cold as a herx the next day. It's pretty cool.

Other things are used for this purpose, too, of course. If you can't get (or tolerate) EDTA or BEG nasal sprays, then some people find benefit from xylitol nasal sprays.

It's not uncommon to harbor what seems like freaky stuff in your nose and sinuses. 2% of people carry MRSA in their noses.

A little bit of post nasal drip. But I've been pretty good since taking care of my dental issues. I have more hope in nebulizing than I do anything else at this point. I've heard great things of it.

Sorry, I didn't mean to say EDTA but BEG spray!

I did nebulizing and it does work I'd say, but I started reacting and had to stop. At the time I wasn't sure what it was but it was a bad case of MCAS, I head insane pressure in my head.
I will start again once I move out of here.

I saw my GP, she presribed Ciprofloxacin for two weeks, she said it shoud take care of the bacteria as it is sensitive to it on the antibiogram. I don't know if it will, but I am actually looking forward to going through a box of abx, isn't that great, a box of medication and problems resolve, can you imagine that.

Btw Hoagie, some time ago I was googling something on the forum about mold, and saw your post about your tent in the yard and the neighbour peering with the wild look in his eyes, and I laughed so hard, thank you for that, now I am imagining setting up a tent in the backyard of the terraced house I live in, and my neighbours peeking through their curtains and I always laugh when I imagine that :D

Zimica - Just checking that you are aware of the FDA Black Box warnings for Cipro?

And, it could also produce a herx - as it's effective against bartonella.


"The FDA first added a Boxed Warning to fluoroquinolones in July 2008 for the increased risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture.
In February 2011, the risk of worsening symptoms for those with myasthenia gravis was added to the Boxed Warning.

In August 2013, the agency required updates to the labeling to describe the potential for irreversible peripheral neuropathy (serious nerve damage).

In 2016, the FDA enhanced warnings about the association of fluoroquinolones with disabling and potentially permanent side effects involving tendons, muscles, joints, nerves and the central nervous system. Because the risk of these serious side effects generally outweighs the benefits for patients with acute bacterial sinusitis, acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis and uncomplicated urinary tract infections, the FDA determined that fluoroquinolones should be reserved for use in patients with these conditions who have no alternative treatment options."

Oh no... Thank you Girlie, actually I wrote the full name of the medication hoping you would chime in, as I know nothing about abx.
I already started them, don't know what to do.

The dr did mention the possible pain in tendons, but nothing on the permanent damage, in fact when she looked at the antibiogram she said this antibiotic was milder than others listed. I am furious over the fact that doctors just seem to know so very little, and they don't care at all. I completely abandoned the idea that I can go to doctors and actually get help, that's why i was excited about her offering me a solution for once.
