Positive Lyme, negative Bart - 3 months later, reversal?

Hi guys. I have insanely severe tinnitus and moderately severe visual snow syndrome symptoms. I was positive for Lyme via c6 peptide ELISA and then did an Armin Labs Elispot showing 2 (weak positive) for Lyme and 0 for Bart. 3 months of Buhner herbs, one month of minocycline, and one month of Alinia later, as well as two months of binding mycotoxins with CSM and charcoal - I am now a 1 ( negative ) for Lyme and a 4 (strong positive) for Bart. I know Bart is most common with these visual issues. I am now on Rifampin and Minocycline for these, and have started Disulfiram for Lyme.

I have had no improvement in any of my symptoms. Any idea why Bart would suddenly shoot out like that? Was Lyme never really my issue, and can it really be gone so soon? I have had my issues about a year and a half so I know I am catching it relatively early compared to some.

Don’t rely on repeat testing to determine if you’re finished treatment..
The testing isn’t reliable/accurate.

Starting treatment a year and a half after onset of symptoms: It can take awhile - some trial and error.
- it’s really not what I consider early.

I was about 14 months and I’m still not in remission after 4 1/2 years of treatment.

Bart may be taking a hold because you haven’t really treated it until now.
I didn’t get resolution of symptoms until I treated Bart -
Rifampin and mino is a good combo - and you may start feeling better after a while on it. Hopefully this happens in the next couple of months.

If you plateau - you might want to switch the Rifampin for Rifabutin - it’s stronger.

Hang in there - it’s an exercise in patience.

I hope you have some improvement in the next couple months with the combo plus the Disulfuram.

Some things to consider:

Have you taken anything for cysts?
What about biofilms?

... and you might have to treat Babesia - it might be the “driver” and holding you back from improving.

Alinia might not be enough for Babs.

Sounds to me like you have a severe Vitamin A deficiency. I would address that before I jumped into any aggressive treatments. Examine your diet and look for foods that have Vitamin A. See how much you are eating daily. Another possible issue is that Saccharomyces cerevisiae (could be another yeast) is in such high levels that its aldehyde dehydrogenase production is preventing the conversion of retinol to its active metabolites. If your ammonia levels are high (or have too much Rubidium) then this can decrease active retinol metabolites as well. I would increase lithium intake because low lithium inhibits this reaction. High Cesium levels also inhibit this reaction. You can treat yourself forever but if you don't correct the nutritional deficiencies, you will not get well.

I had the same thing happen with bart. Initially negative lab tests and few symptoms. Then I took antibiotics, and I had a huge bart infection and a positive PCR test.

There are a few possible reasons for this. One is that when borrelia creates biofilms, other bacteria can hide in there. When you break up the biofilms, it releases the other bacteria, including bartonella and babesia. The other thing is that bartonella can hide inside cells and remain dormant for awhile, but when it gets hungry, it comes out and attacks red blood cells. I found that taking certain antibiotics would not kill it but would stress it enough that it would come out.

How long have you been taking disulfiram? Disulfiram has a slow elimination and accumulates over time. People sometimes report that they feel nothing at first, but after a few weeks get a strong herx. Disulfiram is reported to be effective against borrelia and babesia, but it's unclear if it does anything to bartonella.
