So can depression be the only symptom of herxing?

I’m really trying to figure this herx thing out, & I know it’s not as simple as just asking you all because I know we all herx differently.

What I’m catching onto is, it seems like some days I’m just super depressed and feel hopeless. Then a day or two goes by and that dark place is lifted. I may also have more fatigue those days, but I can’t tell if it’s the depression maybe causing that.

Is this possibly my herx? I also wanna add that on these days my suicidal thoughts are at a all time high! Like no matter how hard I try telling myself it’s the disease dying, I just can’t convince myself that on these days.

Depression and fatigue are symptoms of lyme and CO’s.

Herxing can certainly result in those symptoms worsening.

Do you have good support ?
I worry about the suicidal thoughts - please reach out for help when you are feeling that way.

Talking to a qualified counsellor is very helpful - when I was at my lowest mentally I did call mental health one day and it really did help.
The counsellor hooked me up with a mental health professional that I would see in person once a week - - just so I could talk about my fears without the worry of someone I know judging me.

Psych herxes are real and not uncommon. Your worsening depression definitely could be a herx.

Whether it's a herx or not, though, it's bad for your systems - all of them! - to go through that, so be sure to reach out for support and take care of yourself during these times. Big hugs to you. Staying strong through this stuff can be so challenging!

Exposure to mold and mycotoxins can cause depression and suicidal thoughts.

Parasites can cause mental issues, too.

Herxing is usually symptom exacerbation or new symptoms brought out by new treatments or an increase in dosages.

Toxins can cause a lot mental symptoms and affect balances of various hormone and neurotransmitters.

If you’re having suicidal thoughts, it’s important to find out why and what physical issues are driving the mental symptoms.

Do you have a very competent doctor who can get to the root of this and provide effective treatment to deal with both the cause and the symptoms?

What are you doing to detox? What binders are you taking?

Did you recently start a new treatment or increase dosages on something?

Yes I get depressed as herx symptom as well as anxiety for short bursts. And it is sometimes the only symptom I get when I herx. It gets less as you get farther in to treatment
