babesia testing which lab?

so somehow after thousands and thousands of dollars and years of illness and dozens of doctors, I still have not ever been tested for babesia ( other than the highly inaccurate one strain my insurance covers).
My new LLMD was willign to put me on cryptolepsis anyway but I feel I really need to test.
So what is a good test? I was reading about
IGENEX
DNA CONNEXIONS and
ARMIN

Igenex is so expensive but I guess the $650 one could tell me
I think DNA CONNEXIONS for $750 tests a bunch of co infecitons?
I feel like my llmd should noe and prvious shold have gotten me these tests ages ago
but anyway we all know we have to take care of oursleves in this proces. ugh.
so which test is the most accruate?
and the dna one I think is cheaper?
help me figure thi sout?

Not all llmd’s do test for coinfections- as there are even more false negatives with them.

My LLMD DrJ in DC didn’t ask me to test for Babesia - I had a positive test for lyme and Bartonella a few years prior to seeing him.
He treats everyone for Babesia...

DNA connexions is quite popular - but just know not all llmd’s accept the results anyway.
(One reason I know is because the lab hasn’t done the validation studies according to LLMD MR in Seattle)

Armin Labs and Igenex are two top Labs for testing lyme and co’s.

why does he treat everyone for babesia??? I am so overwhelmed again.I have been at this years and just want to know already what I have. I know now I have a hiatal hernia really badly and have so for years- which is affecting my breahitng. Trying to work on that. so dont know how much of the breathing has been from that or babeaia but there have been two different ways I cant breathe- this tight gripped up hernia thing, and previoously air hunger which is likely babesia.
new LLMD suggested crytolepsis 1 tsp 3X a day for few months. I am fine with that but if I dont have babesia I dont want to put all that in my body- I should really knwo. shoudl have found this out years ago but oh well.
so if I shell out the $650 for the babesia test form igenex- how accurate is it actully?

He believes Babesia is the “driver” and most - maybe all lyme patients have it.
He puts emphasis on Babs treatment early on - within a couple months.

If you get a negative test - then what? Will you treat it?
You could still have it.

I don’t know how high the false negative rate is.
If you get a positive result - then you will know you need to treat it.
But if it’s negative... you won’t know.

I am so totally confused and overhwelmed!!! I have no idea. how accurate is the igenex babesia test? someone on another forum told me it is 93% accurate? what do you think? my doctor shold really be telling m this- ugh- doctors- ugh I really need to know for sure I have put so much into my body and do not want to do months and months of a treatment for somehting I am not sure I have

A positive will be very helpful.

No - not 93% accurate.
Same as lyme. Lots of false negatives - apparently even more with the coinfections.

It sounds like it’s important to you - so maybe call Igenex and ask them for the Babesia test that is the best bang for your buck.
If you get a positive - it will give you peace of mind (sorta?) and you will know it has to be treated.
If it’s negative - you will not know for sure - it all depends on if you’re willing to spend the $$ for a result that may not tell u anything.

Hey if I had spare cash - Id likely do more testing.

even for igenex? I really cant spare the money but I have been at this 7 years and still dotn know if I have babesia- and my body is tired of takign medicines- so I feel I have to find out- if I have babesia then I can handle another round of trseatment and if I dont then I wont

But if you’re negative you won’t know...(even with Igenex) you won’t necessarily find out.

but if i am positive then I can go into treatment with full willingness and conviction if I am negative then I can pause and consider
I just cant believe ALL THESE YEARS and I never got tested- and I paid tons of money and had all other kinds of blood work doen over and over for different clinics tellign who knows what- yet never once did I get a babesia test. shake my head I have been a chaotic mess

I put a call into a new dr I am trying out asking him this=== but i figured out to take which ones of the babesia labs basedon another forum discussion- anyone know which lyme igenex test is best if I want to take just one?

I would do the Lyme WB IgM and IgG for $250 total


Their newer tests - the IGXSpot and the Immunoblot are supposed to be good but I’m not very familiar with them and don’t know many people who have taken those - to compare,

Most ticks don't carry Babs. The last study they did around Maine earlier thus year. 40% of ticks had Lyme 8% had babs. From everything I have read testing ticks is accurate. Perhaps the case is folks who don't get better have both??

Do you have references re: 8% of ticks having babesia?

And there are other vectors that could possibly transmit babesia.


This study (2017) says Babesia is endemic - north-east and upper mid-west U.S.States:

Sorry I mistyped and probably just should have not posting anything.
