I see a Facebook user in the disulfiram group that he just suffered a short cases of psychosis, I suspect it was due to the herxing, as both borrelia and bartonella can give off ammonia in the die off, cause our brains go haywire, but what's the deal with some alcoholics getting psychosis just from disulfiram as well? Either way, I'd ramp up slowly and if the herxing becomes too severe, take a break immediately and detox.
I think that patient said he was around male that weighs around 130lbs and was taking 500mg, he said he was being treated my an LLMD, but if you look at the recommended dosage, 500mg wasn't it for a 130 lb man. There's actually quite a few Facebook users in this group that reported psyhcosis after taking disulfiram, you can do a search, so again, be careful, you can do search on this page.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/dsf4lyme/It's funny I saw this post, because just last night after doing iodine and stevia, as well as minocycline, bactrim, omnicef, and houttuynia I suffered a herx that was comparable to when I took primaquine. I think I'm going to take it a bit slower with treating bartonella, I swear when I woke up to take a piss this morning, the ammonia smell from the urine lit up the whole apartment. I thought I was peeing out nuclear acid, then I went for a 5 mile run... Time to get on an ammonia detoxer like l-ornithine and l-cintrulline.
I hope more LLMDs are going to be warning about
the psyhcosis side effect from disulfiram, I suspect it could be induced from both the drug and the herxing toxins/ammonia. Everyone be careful!
Sucks whole foods, better health don't carry l-ornithine, I see vitamin shopped carries a version that's L-Arginine-Ornithine... And no I'm not paying $60 for Neuro-Antitox ll... Allergy Research L ornithine L aspartate is way too expensive too. NOW brand has a l-ornithine that's around $10 on Amazon, also Yucca Root for $6. I might pick up that L-Arginine-Ornithine and l-citrulline from Vitamin Shoppe tomorrow... They also have Yucca, all for pretty resonable price.... I just hate Vitamin Shoppe because they wont give you a full money refund if you get a reaction to a supplement compared to Whole Foods, Walmart, Costco, etc... I still think that's BS...
I suspect these ammonia supplements probably help with the toleration of disulfiram herxing too, decrease your chances of psychosis... Too much ammonia die off in the brain from borrelia and bartonella is a scary thing, as I suspect there may be a ammonia die off from babesia in the brain as well, but I don't think it's as much as bartonella or babesia. Then there's the thought of those nematodes that Dr. MacDonald told us about
, that borrelia could also be hiding in. Remind you disulfiram is both antiparasitic along with being antimicrobial. Interesting how all these years they said Parkinsons and Alzheimer patients have high ammonia levels, relation to borrelia? Hmmm... Gets ya thinkin... But hey, all us Lyme patients are cray cray, right Kris Kristofferson?
https://www.newsmax.com/health/headline/kris-kristofferson-lyme-disease/2016/06/09/id/733155/If we're cray cray, that would make Wormser and Shapiro Bat Sh!t Cray Cray... Nuckin Futs!
I wonder how much that Lyme diagnosis will extend Kris Kristofferson's life, rather than being loaded up with the autoimmune drugs... Somb!tch is already 83, good genetics, hope he keeps on going to live an long prosperous life, people still remark how good Daryl Hall looks and despite having babesia, borrelia, and bartonella, he can still sing and perform in his 70s. Can never let this disease drag us down!
