Hello folks. Given the amount of MCAS stuff I have been seeing posted here I thought I'd add my input from what I've learned over the past few days.
I recently started using serrapeptase an enzyme silkworms use to digest their cocoons. I have used it for a week but my God, has the effect on my symptoms been phenomenal. I am currently using SupplementWise 80 000 UI 3 times a day on an empty stomache and the inflammation has been reduced exponentially, it's still there but the symtpoms are far easier to deal with.
Anyhow, with regard to the MCAS, serrapeptase works on the premise that it reduces bradykinin and histamine which is produced by mast cells being activated.
EDIT: I had also been using Quercetin prior to this and have found this to be far better than quercetin for relief from symptoms. On top of that, the cytokine remodulation ability of quercetin is relatively low, compared to other herbs out there.
Anyway here's a brief explanation -

Finally here is a brief quote on Serrapeptase molecular mechanisms including reducing effects of histamine:

Enzyme regulates recruitment of PMMs and other lymphocytes at the site of inflammation [50]. A recent finding has suggested that serratiopeptidase reduces capillary permeability induced by histamine, bradykinin, and serotonin; breaks down abnormal exudates and proteins; facilitates the absorption of decomposed products through blood and lymphatics [48].
For anyone struggling, I highly recommend this supplement. There are many lymees on the amazon reviews saying exactly the same thing as I am.
