Basically it tests T-lymphocytes, which supposedly change during an active infection, instead on antibodies because antibodies can linger in the blood for years. T-lymphocytes should change when the infection is no longer active.
yes, and thats why with chronic lyme, If your T's are to low, this test wont work.
Lyme can lower T cells permanently, thus sometimes permanent low cd57 in people who feel cured, (no more symptoms).
No lyme test is fool proof, not even this one.==============================================
interestingly I seldom seen one of these tests show negatives across the board for borrelia, bartonella, babesia.
It seems to be pretty consistent.
