Mold in Bloodwork/ Also Venting from Today

Hey all I hope you’re doing well.

Today has been a really rough day as my son had his first asthma exacerbation episode ever and was diagnosed with asthma all at the same time (he’s 8). He also had to be transported from his doctors office by ambulance to the children’s hospital since he was so bad when I brought him in and so it’s been a long day.

Anyways my hypochondriac side got really wired today as I keep wondering if his asthma attack has been triggered because of mold?
The weather has been questionable here though with random rain and wind storms and then we live in a valley and so smoke from fires has also been trapped in the air.

Anyways I’ve wondered about mold because I always get a positive reading in my blood work. However we have had the house air sample tested and moisture screened and have found nothing and looked everywhere and still nothing. So I got no idea what gives me the positive result.

Was wondering if any of you had advice or ideas and truly thank you all for being such an amazing support group!

Do you live anywhere near the New England area? If so, I highly recommend calling this person. She is well respected in the mold community. I have emailed with her a few times. Unfortunately, I am too far south for her to come to me.

She has 2 websites with loads of information. She’s a great resource. Pull down the menu tabs to see the list of topics. I have communicated with lots of inspectors and remediators and found everything she says about the mold industry to be true.

There are also some listings on the ISEAI site but you really have to be discerning with those. IMO, some should not be listed.

If you have a mold doctor or there’s a Shoemaker Certified practitioner in your region, contact their office and find out what mold inspectors and remediators they recommend. This is how I found the best ones. Use discernment with this too. Some of the companies the doctors mentioned were not good.

When you get names, check out their websites to see what they are saying. If you know what proper inspection and remediation should entail and what it shouldn’t, you can tell a lot by what they say. Then pick some and vet them over the phone.

Lapis what is CSM? One thing I haven’t done in the five years is actually treat my mold allergy.

I’m also very allergic to cats and live with them so I know that doesn’t help matters
