Vision blurry/double if read or watch tv laying down

I’m not sure if this is normal or not. I noticed about 6 months ago that if I read laying down my vision starts going blurry almost double. It persists after standing and lasts a few hours. It doesn’t really go all the way back to normal until the next day. If I don’t read or watch tv laying down I don’t have issues and can see perfectly. I also have something similar that happens if I bend over for a long time (like pulling weeds). Is this normal eye strain?

I saw an eye doc for first time ever last year to rule out intracranial hypertension. My vision was perfect then. I’ve tried googling and couldn’t find an answer. I’m nervous that maybe I actually do have intracranial hypertension.

No that isn’t normal with your eyesight.

Do you feel pressure in your head?

Did the eye dr do s visual fields test and look at the optic nerve?
I think that can show IH - the optic nerve would have swelling,

Do you have headaches?

My mri showed some swelling. I was told with IH headaches are horrible laying down. I don’t have that. I do get some headaches but it seems more linked to my neck if it cracks. I get some mild pressure once in awhile. If anything I feel more pressure in my low back.

A spinal tap is the only way to know for sure. I guess I need to go back to neuro opthamologist. Was hoping it was just eye strain.

I have the same, but I also have a pituitary tumor, so I'm not sure if it's the Lyme or the tumor.

Ok, thank you. Nice to know I’m not the only one. Intracranial hypertension (IH) used to be called pseudotumor cerebri because it kinda acted like a tumor. I know i have a thinned pituitary gland which can happen with IH.

I had an mri (dye enhanced) of my pituitary gland - and report said “pituitary stalk deviated to the left of unknown significance”

Or something like that.

No tumor was found - but I do wonder why my stalk is deviated to the left.

Just had to put it out of my head and try to forget about it.

As much as I don’t want it, I think I need to do spinal tap. IH could explain my few early symptoms (that I still have). The only issue is treatment is usually diuretic- I already have frequent urination. The other less used option is a stent.

I dont know much about the pituitary stalk. What kind of issues can it cause?
