Hello,
I live in North-central Florida and a year ago I went on a trip to Verona, WI. During my trip I went hiking and a day or two after doing so I got really sick (dizzy, heart palpitations, WORST headache ever, etc). Thinking I had the flu I went to the doctors and was given a pregnancy test and sent home.
From here on out my problems started: Night sweats, day sweats, tailbone pain, muscle aches, joint pain in hands, fatigue, brain fog, cold hands & feet, mottled skin, whole body inflammation. All of it came on slowly at first, but everything has ramped up significantly since March of this year. My hand pain is rather new (2 months).
After being tossed around between doctors and the rheumatologist I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Two months after my diagnosis I went to a new doctor to see about
managing my pain and she was convinced it was something more than fibro and ordered lyme tests.
My IGG blot comes back with bands 23 and 41 reactive. Babesia Microti AB (IGG, <1:64 titer) (IGM, <1:20 titer). C4a Level by RIA is out of range 18512 H (Reference Range 0-2830 ng/mL). Brucella IGG 0.26, IGM 0.56 (Reference range: < 0.80). (Sorry, I'm not good at reading the test results.)
When I came back for my follow up I saw the nurse practioner there. Because I do not have the 5 bands the CDC requires I was diagnosed with "clinical lyme" and was told not to tell that to any other doctor. She didn't really seem to be on the same page as the original doctor (who I found out is the closest LLMD near me). I was prescribed serapentase (sp?), cat's claw, and rheumate. She also referred me to a new rheumatologist who is also leaning towards fibro.
I'm exhausted and just want to get treatment so I can go back to living a normal life. I'm 32(F) and have always been relatively healthy and active, but now I can't even go food shopping without feeling like garbage for days after.
After posting on another set of boards I was directed to come post here for more guidance. Should I bother trying to pursue lyme treatment or does it seem more like fibro? If so does anyone have any experience with any Florida LLMDS?
Thank you so much.

Hi Javila - welcome!
Your symptoms plus the lyme test show you have lyme disease.
Bands 23 and 41 positive - indicates a lyme infection.
You also tested positive for Babesia (a common coinfection)
You can start a new thread: "Looking for LLMD's in Florida" and members can email you options.
you will need to enable your email though - through "My Profile" as we don't post information about
our LLMD's on the forum (for their privacy/protection)
When you have time, please take a look through the thread at the top of the page: "New to Lyme?..Start Here!" It's packed full of useful information.

Expect you likely have bartonella also. Find an LLMD who treats borrelia, babesia, bartonella and any other tick infections.
Forget regular doctors. They will only delay proper treatment and time is of the essence.

If you're looking for a LLND - you can check out Nutritional Wellness Center in Sarasota (Dr Martin). They helped me - cured 70% of mine... and then O3 treatments I believe cured the rest, or the closest I'm going to be to cured.
