My mom has lyme disease and is 72 yrs old (she has Babesia, Bartonella, Q fever and Anaplasmosis), has anyone used the Beyond Balance herbals? Do they work well? She started at one drop at the end of Aug, increasing 1 extra drop/day until full dose was reached. She is now at the full dose of Beyond Balance CGS-DT 10 drops, BB MC-BAB-2 20 drops and BB MC-BAR-1 15 drops and has been for about 26 days (around Sept 1st). All her symptoms are coming back since starting on the full doses, how long do these herx reactions last? She had tick bite almost 2 years ago, (no rash). She is taking charcoal 3 x/week, also doing dry brushing and lemon water daily. She was on antibiotics from another lyme doctor MD before going to see this ND who deals with lyme disease also. The antibiotics from the previous lyme doctor were getting the inflammation down, but not really dimishing the symptoms at all and they didn't cause any herx reactions. She was on antibiotics for 9 months and became jaundice so had to stop them. These herbals seem to be doing a lot more, I hope. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Hi Canfossi, welcome to our community.

Re: Beyond Balance. A llnd prescribed one for babesia...and I didn't think the ingredients were babs focussed.
I ended up abandoning it.. I think I took it for a few days...so I can't testify to whether it's effective.

Do they work well? I'm not sure....it's not one of the more popular herbal treatments we see on here.
Some people do add them to other protocols....

But, if your mom is herxing - then the herbs are 'hitting' something.

She could 'up' the charcoal to everyday. Make sure it's a few hours away from food, supplements...etc.
Also, have her take a break from the tinctures for a few days....let the herx dissipate.


What antibiotics was your mom on with the LLMD?

Okay thanks. Oh, she was on malarone, rifampin, loads I just can't remember them all, it was a blur as the LLMD kept piling on more and more. 9 antibiotics in total. Soon after starting these herbals, she doesn't have the shortness of breath anymore, so it is taking care of the Babesia co-infection.

9 antibiotics at once? Wow....that is crazy.... I can't imagine her tolerating all that.

That's great she doesn't have the shortness of breath now.
Does she have a long list of symptoms?

No, she wasn't feeling very well on all the antibiotics. Her symptoms now are leg tremors (at night), night sweats (only when she takes a Tylenol though which can't understand) very sore joints and muscles (pain is starting to become less in last day or so). At the beginning before treatment her heart was beating 90 bpm for 4 months, ECG was normal then, now last one in Sept. showed that the valves in her heart are leaking slightly (never had this before) once she started on antibiotics rapid heart rate went down to normal and still is normal, brain-fog, slight dry cough, it too is resolving now. Also, blotchy rash on lower stomach and down front of legs, seems more with any stress or walking around. Do you know how long these herx reactions should last?
