I’ve had my worst herxes from Rifabutin

The first one I almost went to the ER. My arms were jerking uncontrollably , fever, rapid heart rate, body pain, head pain, head sore to touch ...

It took a few days before I could function and I think it was an entire week before it completely resolved.

I’ve had at least 4 more herxes since and they are generally getting less grievous as time goes on.

They are a huge increase of my usual symptoms... over the top ...couldn’t function for several days after the first few.

I haven't been on standard Lyme/Babesia treatment for over 10 years and am now on disulfiram. I was one of those perma herxers. It just didn't seem to end and probably even caused some damage. My LLMD was pretty aggressive with treatment. I think now more of them understand the need to back off when things get too bad.

My main symptoms were also cardiac/POTS, weakness in my arms and legs, extreme head pressure to the point where it hurt badly to be in an upright position, etc...

Speaking of herxing...Is it generally true that if a person herxes badly on oral antibiotics, the Herx reaction will be worse on IV abx?

I haven’t heard that herxes are worse on IV abx - I think if you’re taking more than one antibiotic at a time - ie two or more - then herxes tend to be worse - whether it’s orals or IV
