Good morning everyone. Tested positive for Lyme yet no co infections testing was done. I'm on the organ donor list. My 30 y/o son was diagnosed at age 12 with iga nephropathy. We at least, took comfort that I could give him a kidney if/when he needs one. Then the tick bites.... I had every symptom of babesia and still struggle with some symptoms. The new allopath says, "You've been treated"(21 days of amoxicillian) so don't worry. WHAT!? WHY, won't she order a co infections test? Even if my son doesn't need a kidney, what happens if I die in a car accident tomorrow & they give my corneas to some poor little kid? It's been over 2 years since, I've had any blood work. The new dr just ordered, the common tests yet, my insurance refused to pay for them after, I fasted for 15 hours, borrowed a car & drove to the hospital lab. Why wouldn't a dr order a co infections test? I'd need to; rent-a-car & drive 3 hours away, to find an independent lab if, I ordered my own co infections panel online & self pay. If she ordered the test panel, I could get them done here & self pay. This entire mess is driving me nuts. Sorry if this is presented in a confusing manner. I read that babesia & ehrlichiosis diagnoses means no blood/organ donations, ever. How can I find out if I am infected without finding another new dr & hoping they'll help Or without huge costs of ordering them myself? Are there any other ways? Should I remove myself from organ donor list? Has anyone else worried about being an organ donor or removed their name?
