All true, and it's been my life for the last 19 years. Tapered off my last ever antidepressant on Sunday. I AM FREE!
It was h3ll. It was hard work, it was expensive. It turned my life upside down. But I believe it was worth it. Lyme taught me the principles of good health and not trusting the CDC/FDA, to allow me to do it.
A good resource is

A good book is "Overdosed America" by John Abramson.
I know what it's like to need medication. I know what it's like for it to be your only hope. But the horror of being on them for life, going through dosage adjustments, becoming dead inside, and the risk of suicide that comes both from being on them and trying to get off them, in my very informed opinion, IS NOT WORTH GOING ON THEM. I plead, with tears in my eyes, for anyone to reconsider. If you need them to save your life right now, then use them only long enough to get on a strict diet, learn about
real nutrition and health, and get off as soon as you can.
For me, mental health is my top priority and my trigger. I've heard it said that the risk of Disulfuram to put you in a psych ward is worth the "healing" from Lyme. To me that's a big fat NOPE. Getting Lyme from my weak immune system was worth the risk of getting off antidepressants. There are alternatives.
If you've already gone down that path, I just want to say that it does not have to be permanent damage. There is hope. I am living (and thriving) proof.
NEVER. GIVE. UP.
