Awful reaction to Flagyl this week

Does this sound familiar to anyone?
I've been on the (Dr. J) protocol, through a PA I see, in Asheville. I've been doing a first round of their "Lyme Babesia Biofilm" Part A treatment. Amoxycillin (in place of Omnicef), Septra DS, Malarone, and herbs (Artemisinin, Enula, Cryptolepis). (One day of treatment, one day off.) On the last 2 days of this 2-week round, I add Flagyl 500mg, 2xday. On the day after the last dose of abx with Flagyl, I was a mess. Muscle and joint aches all over, stiff neck, spaced-out, extrememely depressed thoughts, fatigue and exhaustion to where I thought I might pass out. Headaches and pain behind my eyeballs. My blood pressure was normal. It was like having the flu for 24 hours. I was incapacitated the entire day, but felt a fair amount better the following day (off all treatment for a week).
Does this sound like herxing (and from which organism likely being killed?)? My PA's intitial thoughts are big herxing. I read somewhere online about a guy with mycoplasma who had terrible herxing on Flagyl.

2 possibilities with flagyl- yours sounds mostly like die-off (which is good) but Flagyl also flares autoimmunity. I couldn't take it for that reason

I was on flagyl twice daily for a year. It was the hardest abx to tolerate so far. Made me feel terrible.

Yeah, when I did the "Lyme Induction" protocol, it had different abxs and no Babesia herbs. But in my notes, I noticed that I experienced depressive thoughts/mood after the 2 days of Flagyl added on. This time, with abx and herbs more specifically for Babesia, I had this awful response to the 2 days of Flagyl added on. I guess I'm realizing it must be Babesia herx. AW (my LL PA) thinks so--and maybe some brain inflammation/involvement. She wants me to do the next round (after a week off) with 1/2 dosages instead of full. Hope your Lyme Induction has gone well, "ChristianWithLyme"!!

I'm also on the Dr. J protocol and get a herx from Flagyl each time I take it.

Amoxy and septra hit lyme as well.

Aha! . . . Thanks, Girlie. At least I'll know what to expect from this combo. And I've got to get more proactive with detoxing. AW suggests Rentone for kidney health (my kidney enzymes have been getting high), Chlorella, charcoal, a Burbur/Pinella tincture from NutraMedix, and even Epsom-salt baths. I've got to take this detoxing stuff seriously or I'll wind up with kidney damage, I think (not to mention feeling incredibly bad for a couple days a month).

I take charcoal and bentonite clay during the night so it is farther away from food, drugs, and supplements. A lot of people seem to be helped by Burbur.

One of my liver enzymes was a little high at last safe labs. This lab result was one thing that made me take detoxing more seriously! Have added some Burdock, Dandelion, and Alpha Lipoic acid to help with liver support.
