Girlie, if I remember correctly, you still herx on your maintenance protocol so I would think that means you’re still dealing with infections. Hope with time, you make more gains as you whittle away at the bugs.

I have had good luck with drug called Roxithromycin (roxid for short) but you can't get it in this country. Easy enuf to get from online pharmacies. It crosses the blood brain barrier.

May be going back on it soon.

I think it should be up to the patient - as long as they are aware of the black box warnings.

My friend had a uti and the antibiotic prescribed didn’t touch if.
She was offered one of the fluoroquinolones - I informed her of the risks and she chose to take it.
Her uti cleared quickly and she didn’t get floxed.

I know people with bart who have taken the Cipro or levaquin and healed - no floxing.

I was offered it and decided not to take it...

There are risks with other abx as well.
(Long qt with the macrolides for one example)

Like I said - the original antibiotic did not touch it - it may have been doxy.

I suspect my mil was floxed years ago when her tendon detached and curled up. We know that she was on abx for uti’s many times.

I’m not promoting the fluoroquinolones - I indeed refused them - but if they are the most effective for bart - and patients are told about the risks - and choose them - so be it.

there are a ton of pharma risks - we weigh the pros and cons and make a decision.

I had a colonoscopy last year - they gave me fentanyl plus something else to make me drowsy - I would think there are risks to that as well.
