Good afternoon forum. Trying to learn about lyme disease. In October of last year i got very sick. Hardly able to move at one point. Was really sick lmos 2 months. My dr was running test, mostly for stds. Not sure why. Eventualy it got so bad that i went to the emergency room. They performed more test, but i got no answers upon leaving. They assured me my vitals was fine and i wasnt dying, becuase thats how badni felt. about a week later i get a call from a department of the hospital that asks questions about certain diseases. I had no idea, but she said the er dr had done a lyme disease test and i came back positive.
I immediately called my dr. and made an appointment. They got the records from the hospital, and sure enough i have lyme disease. Dr sounded thrilled, gave me a month worth of antibiotics and sent me on my way. The medicine helped. Got me to a point were i could at least function. Not close to 100 percent but better than i was. I took meds for a month. Didnt feel 100 percent but better, then after about a month i started getting worse. Pain in joints muslces, tired, memory is terrible, cant focus. I was on the verge of breaking. Crying for no reason, angry. At this point im having trouble doing my job. So back to the dr. He puts me back on the antibiotics. Its been 2 weeks on them and while i feel a little better than i did, once again. I still have pain, mental issues, tiredness. We did an mri that came back normal. I was told today by the dr that this is just how it is for now. Keep taking the antibiotics and wait it out. It should eventually go away. Ive been trying to get info online but there are no diffinitive answers. Its all confusing, and i have trouble focusing and remembering what i read. Everything ive read says that at this point antibiotics arent really doing much. Do i have to worry about flare ups even when on antibiotics? Is lyme disease ever really gone? Seems worse one day than the next? Pain moves around? Legs feel super heavy and muscles sore like i ran a marathon. Lots of twitching? Gets worse at night? Im currently looking for a more experianced lyme disease dr. Not an easy task in ohio near 44883. Any help that anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. This has completely turned my life upside down. Its effecting my home life with wife and kids and my job.
