Request for doctor recommendation

I’m in central NC and looking for a doctor with some Lyme experience. I was treated in June (10 days doxy) and officially ruled a relapse on January 2 but I didn’t feel well between the treatment and the “relapse.”

I’ve had no testing - was diagnosed anecdotally - but suspect I may have Babesia as well. I’m slowly adding some of the herbs for it from Buener, pulsing doxy, and taking herbs for Lyme.

Any advice or recommendations are appreciated. TIA.

Welcome, cyclone78! I think you'll find some help and support in this forum. I also use the LL PA that ChristianWithLyme mentioned--and think quite highly of her (AW). She also continues to work, I think on a monthly basis, with Dr. J's clinic in DC. Most of us would say, unfortunately, that 10 days of Doxycycline isn't going to do s**t, unless the infection was diagnosed immediately. I believe that the CDC (even though they're way behind the curve) suggests 28 days on Doxy. Doxy is almost totally ineffective at killing the encysted (or "round body") forms of Borrelia, which the spirochete starts producing fairly soon after infection. I've been starting on AW's Lyme Babesia protocol, Part B, this week--and tolerating it fairly well so far. I prob. have long-term Lyme. Keep the faith!

Hey, ChristianWithLyme--how's the treatment going with AW? Are you into doing the Babesia Part A, now? Hope it's going well.

Sorry to hear that symptoms are worse. I had a totally major herx, when I was starting on round 2 of Part A. "AW" suggested I cut the dosage of Malarone in half, and also the herbs--and then gradually I worked back up to full dosages. Some of my symptoms seem worse than earlier, last fall: fatigue, muscle pain with moderate exertion, dizziness, and brain fog. But I'm keeping it in mind that some things may get worse before they get better. I probably do have brain/CNS involvement (with Borrelia or the others)--and that seems horrible when I think about it.
But I'm keeping my eye on the goal, and trying to not get too caught up in the concept and mindset of ILLNESS!

Darn. I'd never like to hear from a professional that my nervous system is "fried"!!! God bless. You'd think AW would be a little more tactful. Yeah, I also have impaired cognitive function and like short-term memory loss. Forget what I'm doing, etc. Yoga or other physical stretches seem to help me (and prob. help get lymphatic system and circulation stimulated)--but don't overdo it. I think you're also taking detoxes and organ-support supplements, right? I've found it hard to do those on my antibiotic days, because AW suggested to me to stagger my use of the abx, since I was initially having kidney stress. Anyway, keep the faith--and forge onward!!! I found on Monday (abx day) that I could force myself to do some necessary physical tasks (stacking firewood), though I was exhausted afterward.
