This is insane. While doing a heavy metal hair test (according to andy cutler rules I am indeed mercury toxic) I tested OFF THE CHARTS for copper. I'm 100th percentile. Ref range is 11-32, mine were 180!

This could easily be contributing to my symptoms. Anyone else experience this? What did you do about it?

I live in an old building, so first step is clearly switching to all bottled water

I don’t know much about copper and haven’t gotten tested yet, but yeah I definitely think that could be a strong clue regarding your symptoms.

Did you join the Cutler Facebook group? Supposedly you can post your test results and they can help you interpret. Please update us if you get feedback from the Cutler group on what this means.

I know that copper and zinc can both be affected by Lyme, etc, so it may not all be related to copper pipes. Try to find out more.

Your supposed to have copper in your body. You might consider having a blood test done too.

Right you need some copper. It should be around 20 ug/g average. Mine is 180. It is def toxic in high levels.

I contacted the Cutler group. They advised that some people w mercury poisoning end up w high copper levels. Mercury screws w your ability to use minerals and metals.

They advised that the way to get rid of copper is NOT chelation which surprised me, since they love to chelate. You remove the source and then do liver support (ox bile, glycine Milk thistle taurine) in addition to supplementing w selenium and molybednum to counteract then effect of the copper. I’m already on ox bile and milk thistle and selenium. Will hop on the glycine and molybdenum after some more research. Ordered and at home test kit for water supply copper and if it’s high I’m having my water delivered or installing a professional filtration device

I would get a blood and/or urine test for copper before drawing any conclusions.

True. They recommended a urine test, said blood is not accurate. Going to ask dr K to test me when I see him. Also will see what the test for copper levels in my water shows, if its high that may give a clue.

What is your zinc? They should be balanced. But if that hair test is right your copper toxic. Could be the cause of your SFN (i think that’s you, right?).

I know Wilson’s Disease is caused by high copper too (genetic).

Yup, that’s me. I agree can be causing SFN that is not a normal level. I’m going to try to verify the level is correct w a urine test.

Zinc is low. So is selenium and molybdenum. Will begin/up supplementation

Yes, definitely check water. My heavy metal test showed high uranium, lead (and others) and the uranium came from our well water. When I tested our regular faucet and our reverse osmosis faucet the RO faucet had much more lead - it was coming from the faucet itself. Replaced faucet with a lead free one and retested no lead.

Where did you get your water test kit? How do you know which ones are accurate and reliable?

K07 thanks for the info! Was curious as to same question as WBF, which test kit did you use?

I'm also curious if my hair sample analysis is accurate, although I have no reason to believe it isnt. just so odd.

Do you take EGCG or drink green tea? I just saw Quin posted this link to someone else telling them not to drink tea with Disulfiram. The issue is copper related. Take a look and see if this has any bearing on you.

Interesting, thanks WBF. This helps a lot! I dont use any of those but it gives me ideas.

What is the issue with DSF and copper? I know i remember reading that people using DSF need to use suppositories for copper issues. Does DSF make your body hoard copper? Also if i do have a copper issue, which i still need to verify, it may be helpful to talk to the DSF guys about how to deal with it.

What i'm realizing is that a lot of these drugs and supplements that cause issues for people do so by moving metals, which destroys DNA and upsets enzyme usage. I think that could be what happens w/ cipro/floxxing, although there have been some other mechanisms suggested, but the end result is the same, mitocondrial DNA destruction.

DSF bonds with copper in the stomach. Then taken into the blood at higher levels potentially causing problems.

I used a few labs for drinking water. The best was Doctors Data. Our community well was managed by a company so I also got a report from them on the well itself.

I did the hair test for kids through doctors data. Their hair test uranium level matched my serum (provoked level).

I also used a local company that used Research & Analytical Laboratories, inc.
