Lyme Babesia Protocol - Bart - White Blood Cells

I am taking Dr. J pulsed Mepron, Omnicef, Septra DS, Cryptolepis, Artemisinin, and Enula plus some other supplements/vitamins/herbs.

Have seemed to herx from day one on this protocol and am now in 8th week (3rd round) still feeling pretty rotten (some rough days recently). I think combination of die off and histamine flaring, though I go back and forth on that sometimes thinking that it's more symptoms than histamine, but both are probably in play. So far, I am feeling as bad or worse on my weeks off (Flagyl herx seems to hit me in week after taking - could be part of it). Recent safe labs were good except for high triglyceride level.

My white blood cell count has fluctuated with a low of 4.9 at one time to a high now of 6.9.

My questions are:

1. Does an increase in white blood cells while treating have any significance?

2. Do you think this protocol would kill Bart or at least suppress it or could Bart flare on this protocol?

3. I lowered my ABX and herbs dose today and am thinking about only doing about half dose (including Flagyl) for the whole week considering how I feel. Do you think this would be okay on a J protocol? LLPA has given me liberty to back off if needed.

4. Had thirst on Lyme Induction and developed it again awhile into the Lyme Babesia Protocol. Could this be related to die off? It seems to coincide with feeling bad.

Thanks, Quin. My sodium was fine in recent safe lab. I do have some frequent urination and/or urgency at times, but it usually comes with a bloat feeling and sometimes what seems like nerve irritation in groin. I've had these symptoms when not treating. Pretty sure infection related. These symptoms have ramped up more on this protocol and have made me wonder if Bart was being killed or was flaring.

According to Dr J WBC is important.
Mine was sometimes below 4.0 when I was on the Persisters protocol. I was told to take folic acid to help increase the wbc (neutrophils)

The Septra can hit the bart - not as well as Rifabutin/Rifampin or the fluoroquinolones though.

If the LLPA has said it’s fine to back off on doses - I’d trust her.

I don’t really know about the thirst...

So out of the blue, I had some relief in symptoms (most significant since starting Part A I think) and was able to finish week 2 at full dose. Have had it rough again this past week though.

Consulted with LLPA and will be doing another round of Part A. LLPA doesn't think I'm ready for Part B biofilm.

What side affects did you have from Cryptolepis, Quin?

I'm wondering if my thirst comes when my liver is particularly taxed. I'm just guessing by when it comes and when it goes.

Well, when I first started Lyme Induction Protocol, it came on rather quickly but then, if I recall correctly, it subsided as I got over the worst herxing.

When I started Lyme Babesia Protocol Part A, the thirst didn't manifest right away. It took at least a week or two to show up. I had a little relief in symptoms the other week, and I think the thirst had diminished some but then I took Flagyl, and it wasn't but a few days or so after that that the thirst came back. It stayed for about a few days but now is not as bad.

It seems like when I'm killing/herxing that my hormones get wacky and the thirst will come. I was getting the impression that my liver gets overloaded with toxins/die off and doesn't process everything as well, but I could be wrong.

It's funny, first time I treated with ABX for this illness back in 2018, my hormones seemed more wacky after starting treatment then also.

I've had the peeing every now and then when not treating, so I tend to think that's a symptoms and not side affect.

My WBCs count is minimal to under range and I’m even in remission. I feel great though.

Cut back to half dose in Lyme Babesia Part A Round 4 because of severity. The "pressure" and what seemed like inflammation was very high and only seemed to increase with each dose. LLPA said thought it was good that I don't do more than my body can handle, so she's ok with me adjusting the dose as tolerated.

So finished Round 4 at half dose and did recoup a little. Hoping to start Round 5 at full dose and see how it goes.

This protocol sure seems to be making its rounds and doing its damage. Hopefully damage to bugs!
