Is it ok to lie down right after taking Clarithromycin?

Hi everyone. Glad to have found this forum.

I'm often missing my second dose of Clarithromycin because I can't sit up for very long due to fatigue. I was on Doxycycline before and always made sure to sit upright for one hour after, since it can irritate the esophagus. Not sure if Clarithromycin is the same.

The tablets are: APO-CL500 (APOTEX Clarithromycin)

Welcome to the forum.

I never had this problem with clarithromycin, but I did with clindamycin, so if you have problems with esophagitis you might want to avoid that one.

Those look like the typical clarithromycin pills that Inhouse Pharmacy sells.

I didn’t find it to be hard on the esophagus like doxy is.
But having said that - I still don’t lie down after taking my abx

Can you sit up in bed for 10 minutes or so before laying down?
Or build your pillow up so you’re not completely flat when taking it?

I can sit up for 10 minutes, wasn't sure if that's enough time. Thanks for the info.

And drink lots of water - at least a full glass
