Hi. i don’t know if I am posting correctly or when responding to a reply.Do I suppose to hit quote when replying to a specific reply and type in the reply box like this?Anyways I did start searching yesterday to try and find a counselor.I sent my Dr. a message through the patient portal on Thursday to explain to her what was happening and asked for advice but she did not respond back. She is all about
the money.I wish I could find another doctor but I live in Birmingham Alabama and there is no one here that I know of that can help with Lyme.I have to drive to Atlanta Georgia to see her but I am not happy with her because it seems she is just about
the money. At my 500 dollar appointments she offers very little advice and just ask you questions about
symptoms and after an hour tell u your time is up.I

Lyme causes a lot of paresthesias and neurological issues, and also is associated with the condition Morgellons. A lot of us have had crawling sensations. It's maddening! But yes, they go away. I recommend keeping your lymph moving (craniosacral therapy, lymphatic massage, red root, yoga or gentle exercise, rebounding, dry brushing...) and doing what you can to safeguard your nervous system (tone your vagus nerve, reduce stress, DNRS, tapping, lion's mane mushroom, magnesium, good sleep...).
You cannot feel spirochetes.
I'm sorry that you are having such a difficult time! What you are going through is very hard, and health issues like this are troubling and traumatic for everyone. It's a struggle, and most people in your life will not know what to say; it is a loved one's job to support you, but not to fix you. (Even if they are therapists or doctors, it's still not ethical for them to act in that capacity for a loved one.) Your mental health is extremely important, and it makes sense to reach out to people when you need help. I'm very glad that you posted here! We've all had those dark days (or weeks!). These days a lot of health care practitioners are offering online appointments - any chance you could access a mental health counselor that way? There is absolutely no shame in reaching out for help when you need it. Getting help is a sign of strength and wisdom, and anyone who thinks differently is ignorant about how mental health actually works.
As for Lyme and co-infections that you are dealing with, I'm sure you know this but symptoms can flare a lot when herxing, and that can happen whenever you change something or increase a dose. Disulfiram especially can be very hard for people to handle mentally and neurologically. I know some folks who saw improvement with it but had to stop around 2-3 months in because of mental and neurological symptoms. There's always something else to try, if the current regimen isn't working for you. Do you think you can reach out to your doctor and let them know you are struggling as things are? Maybe take a break, detox, try something else? What are you doing for supportive treatment? It can be a long, complex road, but we're here to help you figure things out!
