ERMI Mold Test for Home

Thinking and praying about testing home for mold. Have heard on this forum that Mycometrics is a good company?

Any advice on best test for this?

What is HERTSMI? Something I would need also? We have wood floors. AccuCloth the best?

How much usually cost once evaluation is complete? Thanks!

You use either ermi or hertsmi. But to save money when we bought house i did ermi on main floor and hertsmi in basement.

I did when buying our house. If i put all on one sample then say if mold was in basement I wouldn’t have narrowed it down to which floor. Hopefully others will chime in on testing - I’m no expert!

In one house we put an offer on the basement had super high aspergillus and main floor was ok. The basement fridge was leaking.

Ditto what k07 said. If you’re testing your home, I would do the ERMI over the HERTSMI-2 if you can afford it. I think the ERMI was $290 and HERTSMI-2 was $150.

You can post your results and questions here. We’ll help you get the most understanding from the test. Shoemaker and mold docs tend to focus exclusively on the overall ERMI result and the HERTSMI-2 score (which you can calculate from the ERMI results). Is the ermi super helpful in determining if mold is a major player. I'm doing g the mold vs coinfection brain dance.

Do you have to do every floor in home. Rooms?

Someone I spoke with had high levels of one mycotoxin in urine and it never showed on ermi so it wasn't so helpful.
