Hi everyone.I was wondering if anyone else who tested through DNA connexions knows what IND behind the results means.I tested for the following microbes.Bartonella hensalae-IND,Borrelia recurrentis-IND,Ehrlichia chaffeensis-IND.I was wondering could this have been passed down to me from my parents or did I really get bit by a tick.Dont remember getting bit. Thanks

IND means indeterminate. It means they detected something but not enough to conclusively call it a positive.
I believe the infections can be passed from mother to child.
I have no knowledge of ever being bit by a tick, either. I had health issues from infancy and early childhood that likely were from bartonella, Lyme, ehrlichia, or babesia. I only tested positive with DNA Connexions for Lyme and ehrlichia. I did have pets that got ticks from our yard, but I was almost 13 before we had any pets. I suspect I was born with at least one infection and may have contracted others at later times. I didn’t have life altering symptoms until age 39.

thank you walkingbyfaith for replying.I was wondering about
this because when I first went to my Lyme doctor she asked a lot of questions but did not explain why she was asking them. One she asked about
my cycles and what age I started and the type of home I lived in and how old they were.I always had irregular cycles and bad cramps when starting at age 12.I was a nervous kid with anxiety and the doctor said I would grow out if it.The only thing that normalized my cycles was birth control at the age of 18.At the age of 32 I started having weird symptoms in my head and the dr couldnt find anything wrong.I started throwing up and went to another doctor and she said I had a viral infection.Gave me abx and that cleared it up.3 months later find lump in breast, breast cancer .Had treatments in 2009.2012 had my first and only baby at 36 years old.2013 stArted having the weird symptoms again in my head, couldn’t find anything wrong.Started having neck pain on and off up to 2018. feb 2018 starting running fever diagnosed with walking pneumonia and flu.Did not feel like I had either cause the next day I felt fine.i remember having some weird joint pain that disappeared fast that same day.March 2018 woke up with severe neck pain and couldn’t move my neck.Dr.said muscle spasm but I knew something was not right. April 2018 started having pain in my foot and went to the bathroom and had this big red center raised rash on my arm at the top of my shoulder. We had been doing yard work but I do not believe I was bit by a tick because of all the other symptoms before this. All my symptoms progressed after this. Now I wonder could I have been born with this and this is what caused the Breast cancer but most importantly did I pass it to my son.Sorry for the long post but this have me confused and worried.="WalkingbyFaith"]IND means indeterminate. Hi Quin.Thank you for posting this.Am I interpreting this correctly?NPS results means the infection probably being there for a long time and IND is opposite?Thank you

Both mean the same thing. The bacterial DNA is different from what is expected, possibly because it's an old infection and it has changed over the years.

Difference between NPS and IND
- one test run vs two
“ The explanation for this is the same as the NPS, however the aberrant amplification product was only present on one test run. ”
