WV Mike,

Rest up a few days and try just 62.5 every other day, then every day when stable. I found physical exersion difficult on top of the fatigue I felt starting DSF.

Is it possible you had alcohol in your body before you started taking it?

No I never drink. Haven't had a drink in years. Never been very good at it lol always felt like crap for a few days after.

My shins started hurting bad again too. They haven't hurt like this for a few years. Maybe it has the Bart stirred up?

I was asking more about accidental consumption. Vinegar's, hand sanitizer, fermented foods, some hand soaps and shampoos. Stuff that we use and dont think about alcohol being in them.

I don't think so. Mostly meat, just salt no sauce or condiments. Toothpaste maybe? Regular Crest. Idk. I think I will go to 62.5 next time. Maybe wait until Saturday some more farm work to do Friday. Right now it's just super sweating and blurry vision.

Is it ok to eat really sweet fruits while taking dsf? The paw paws are ripe and I look forward to them every year. My favorite fruit.

OMG the best fruit ever. They grow wild all over the place here. People say they taste like a banana but I hate bananas and love paw paws

Of course you've heard of them Girlie, it's spelled Papaya but it's pronounced "paw paw." lololol that made me laugh.

Papaya and paw paw are two entirely different things. Paw paws are better. Yes Papaya is pronounced just like you thought girlie and paw paw is pronounced just like it's spelled.


Did anyone have any problems with fruit, sweets or any foods while taking dsf? My Dr made it sound like watermelon, ketchup, etc would make me sick.

WVMIKE: I had problems with vinegar (most condiments). I used lemon juice often as a substitute.

Some have reported problems with aftershave, shampoo, deodorant, etc. but not me. Even hand sanitizer didn't seem to cause any problems.

I heard "no overly ripe fruits" so I never really tested that. However I ate plenty of fruit that was not "overly ripe" without issue.

I've wanted to try paw paw ever since I heard about them on a local gardening show years ago. I think they used to grow wild here in PA as well.. maybe they still do in some parts. I may just plant some eventually...

Thanks for the food advice pots. I've been avoiding hand sanitizer and likes but haven't altered diet much.

I've seen paw paws around the pittsburgh area. They're great but only ripe for five or six days a year. Very easy to miss them. As soon as they ripen the raccoons, deer, bear, squirrels, turkeys , fox etc eat them up. Everything eats them. If you're not in the woods often they are very easy to miss.

Took 62.5 mg tonight and it seems to be ok. Maybe 125 was to much for me. I struggle with a lot of meds.

Ok an hour after taking my ceftin I got a bad headache, very blurry vision, and increased ringing in ears. Herx maybe? What happened to the dsf honeymoon I heard about? It's only my second dose and I went down to 62.5. Definitely no alcohol from food today just had some ground beef. Is it normal to feel it already?

Sounds like a herx to me.

I'm really hoping this stuff works. I haven't tried it yet, but I've got a bunch of it for when I quit work.

Nope - I haven’t taken disulfuram

I think it was treating Babesia plus the lengthy treatment of bart.

So yesterday I had the headache off and on again. Like a pressure inside of skull and base of skull where it meets spine.

Then last night I woke up three times gasping for air even though I was breathing fine. Felt like i wasn't getting any air even though I was?

Could I have babesia? I was tested for it a few years back.and it was negative. In the beginning o would soak the sheets every night with night sweats.

Or is this just a side effect of dsf? I didn't think it was going to be like this at such a low dose. I feel like it's doing something so I don't want to quit but I don't know how I'll get up to the full dose.

From the facebook group most people had to take several doses to build it up in their body before they started to experience effects.

On the FB group there are some folks who start as low as 30mg I guess they have it compounded. You may want to take it every third day rather then everyother day to start. Its going to keep building up in your body for a week or so.

I'll be weaning off DSF after 8 months and see how I feel. Right now I'm at about 85% and remaining neuro sx may be in part from DSF side effects, and most likely permanent nerve damage. I'll stay on Ceftin for a few more months and if I start to back slide then add Clarithromycin.

I recommend to any DSF newbee's to plan only ramping to 375mg max dose and stay away from trying 500mg.

I'll stay in touch, May be starting a part time gig delivering auto parts soon after enjoying the summer off from starting age 65 retirement
