Think familymatters is referring to depression that comes with Lyme.
Perhaps the focus on depression takes it away from the other symptoms of Lyme, possibly. In years of coaching runners, I found it amazing some of the best performances came during times of down or depressing moments for some runners. Best example I can think of was when my son and his girlfriend, who were both on the same college team I was coaching, broke up the night before the race. He was stressed and she was depressed. It was our conference meet, and both ran personal bests that day. I thought it was going to be a disaster.
Also, I've noticed runners with some ADHD, even mild, seem to run through pain easier than others. My theory is they don't focus on the pain. Just a theory.
