Does anyone know anything about
estrogen dominance? I’m thinking it mig be an issue since hair loss is an issue and thyroid and adrenals have been fixed. Should I ask my doctor to test for this?

I tested my hormones early on before I was diagnosed with lyme.
If you’re going to test - the saliva test - sampling 3x throughout the day is recommended.
Now I can’t remember the test facility - they sent the test kit and I mailed the samples back.
To counteract the estro dominance - many docs will prescribe progesterone.
None of it helped me.

Your doctor will need to advise about
the hormonal contraception. The tests say not to be one supplemental hormones when you take them, but it might be okay as long as the doctor who is interpreting the test knows to factor in the difference? I don't know how a test would be helpful, though, with the steady influx of hormones.
In addition to the type that Girlie mentioned, there are also salivary tests that test you every three days for a month, so that you know how your hormone levels change over the course of your cycle.
Oddly, I have estrogen dominance symptoms but very low estrogen. If your body is not producing much estrogen, then it will do two things: 1. become hypersensitive to the bits of estrogen it does produce, and 2. steals other hormones (chiefly cortisol) to do estrogen's duties. (Because it's so important that I be able to reproduce even if I can't function? Smart move, body!) This is all part of HPA axis dysfunction, which might be worth looking into. I had a Lyme-literate functional medicine gynecologist to advise me about
this, which is a rare and lucky thing.
Has hormonal contraception affected your symptoms at all? I lose about
a third of my hair any time I'm on hormonal contraception.

Well my hair loss started before I went on birth control. It just hasn’t stopped since getting my thyroid and adrenals better. When I went on my new thyroid and adrenal meds my hair loss stopped for like a week and then it always comes back. Making me think there’s more hormonal issues. I don’t think birth control has impacted other symptoms. But I got on it before I knew I had lyme. However, I don’t remember noticing a change when I got on it.
