Migraines and Injections

Has anyone had steroid and lidocaine injections in your neck and head for migraine and chronic headaches? I had my first procedure yesterday in my neck and head trigger points, and I am having a lot of trouble. Today my headache has increased to a 6 or 7 on the pain scale. I didn't expect the headache to increase. The neck pain is horrible, but I kind of expected it to be bad from the injection sites. Today and last night I have taken migraine medicine, naproxen sodium, muscle relaxers, and have been icing my head and neck. Does anyone have any experience with this? I have a bad case of whiplash and post concussion syndrome from a car accident back in October. The headaches and migraines have been terrible despite all meds tried, so they decided to do the injections. Thanks.

I have suffered with migraines for many years... they are much better now.... I never had the injections but I used to take oral prednisone for a few days if they were really bad and that worked. But I did have a couple of steroid injections in my shoulder last year and the first one was very painful for more than a week. I lived on extra strength Tylenol and iced the area a lot. Eventually it calmed down . The second injection was painless.

MA I hope you get relief soon.I know with the shoulder injection the relief took awhile to kick in. I believe the oral steroids act faster.
