I took andrographis for about 6 months and had no issues except for a bad headache for the first two weeks and then pretty much continuous herxing. (I added it to cat's claw and Japanese knotweed, so the herxing blame is shared with those.) I stopped it after two weeks because of the headache, but my LLMD wanted me to stick with it because I have EBV (high IgG) and andrographis has a good reputation for antiviral properties. I persisted at a very low dose (one drop per day) until the headache subsided and then increased by one drop at a time. As part of Buhner's core protocol, people take it for months or years at a time. I am not aware of any issues with taking it long-term.
