How long on antibiotics??

How long should I stay on antibiotics (specially for Bart) if not feeling anything. I don’t want to stay on if I don’t need to but also don’t want to stop before something happens.

i am in this same situation - as i'm sure are many here.

there are no hard and fast answers ( i have spent around 5 years reading into this subject in depth )

about the best guides come from people like Dr Burrascano and Dr Horowitz
Burrascano recommends combination antibiotics, for Bart, for at least 4 months
typically Clarithromycin, Rifampicin and Doxycycline together
or a fluoroquinolone

Horowittz similar - but recently favors Dapsone in the combination with the above for his most resistant Lyme patients - but it's not clear if it's effective for Bartonella or simply whether people with Bartonella ad Lyme are just harder to treat. It is, however, a much harder drug to use - especially if trying to self administer ( high side effect profile)

both will treat bart with gentamycin if the condition is v severe or there are life-threatening complications. Again because of the side effects skewing the risk vs benefit equation. Permanent deafness is the main one I read about with gentamycin.

personally I suspect Bart on its own may be relatively easily treated - but when combined with other immune damaging infections ( such as Lyme) I think it can become one of the hardest - at least that is the picture I am inferring from all i have read.

as such - hard to treat Bart may well be an indication that there are other co-infections in the mix ( very difficult to get a firm diagnosis between Lyme and bart or lyme or bart due to so much symptoms overlap and poor testing) .

Since ya’ll are talking about bartonella, I will throw this in. Anyone with bartonelka-like symptoms who is stuck in their treatment also needs to consider mold. The symptoms caused by bartonella and mold overlap extensively and can be hard to distinguish. Many people have both.

WalkingByFaith is right! I never was able to overcome and hit remission until moving away from my parents moldy house!

Adress the biofilms using biofilm protocols like tinidazole, NAC, Vitamin C, Cistus incanus and others together with the abx, to hit the dormant forms. The dormant forms are the ones who co-exist with bacteria but with a crucial difference, you can feel very well without symptoms after killing all the bacteria with abx, except the dormant forms will still be there hidden and will change form again to live bacteria and hit you again. Biofilm killing is fundamental..

Cistus works so gently and so well... at least for me. Def can herx tho if drink too much!

any more info on Cistus? - I know bodybuilders use it - but not up to speed on its use in Lyme
any links f info you can point me to ?
