I find it helpful to have a portable EKG device at home. I have a little one from the brand Emay that has saved me a lot of ER trips from heart palpitations and costochondritis. I agree with looking into reflux if the belching is associated. Toning the vagus nerve could help with the palpitations as well as the reflux. Another possibility is that you are having esophageal spasms with reflux (and not heart palpitations). A hiatal hernia can cause some of these issues and those sometimes are easy to correct.
Good luck! Chest pain is always scary.
"costochondritis" that's the one I had in mind - thansk Saraeli
