"NB Protocol" - What do we know?

There are a great many fringe therapies or protocols for Lyme disease.

Mostly driven by the near-complete lack of support available from conventional medicine.

I am generally very skeptical of most of these - as the science is usually lacking and its therefore very difficult to evaluate them logically.

This one caught my interest though - as it focusses on the immune system as a target.

My own experiences are that most of my gains have come from things that help support or modulate the immune system (Herbs for immune function, immune adaptogens, sleep, exercise, etc)

it also postulates that most people with Chronic hard to treat lyme actually have Bartonella as a co-infection which is suppressing the immune system.
from reading this forum over the last few weeks it is clear that a large proportion of the population here seems to also have Bartonella as a co-infection. As do I.

The basic premise is that:
1 - Bart and Lyme have turned off vital parts of the immune system allowing chronic long term infection
2 - the immune system can cure a person of Lyme if these parts of the immune system are turned back on - namely apoptosis and phagocytosis
3 - herbs and supplements can turn these parts of the immune system back on - thereby curing a person of Lyme disease over time ( namely: Black Cumin seed oil, echinacea, iodine, and then later Astragalus )

I have read a lot of the NB protocol site and, to my mind, there are still quite a few gaps between what is stated as fact and the studies that are quoted to back them up.

but that said - the same is true for a lot of what many LLMD's practice - eg antibiotic combinations, pulsing, biofilm busters, etc etc - but that doesn't make it wrong per se.
There could be something to it

Well i dont remember much of it...but I was in remission , cured , whatever you call it when I learned about this. I read it and searched it, but had no need to try it by then. Its hard to find now, which is prob why he sends it to people.

I see his you tube Chanel has been "emptied" too.

There is no one size fits all.....since lyme brings out/magnifies anything you had before anyway.

What I found on it mentioned nigella sativa (black seed oil). There are lots of posts on that here. I took it for a while. If I remember right, it can help rebalance the microbiome. Fixing your microbiome is very important and difficult to do, IMO. Even if you’re doing a lot of right things, it can take a long time. I’m not convinced that alone will fix everything.
