For bartonella people consulting with Dr M, the bartonella expert in Bethesda, MD: how did he become your doctor--via referral or directly applying?
I've applied to become a patient twice now--once last fall when I was trying to find an LLMD and once at the end of June--by filling out the form on his site. I've heard literally nothing from his office (acknowledgment or fee information) either time which is really disheartening since I live very close to his practice.

Sorry to hear about
that. I applied to become a patient awhile back - maybe 2-3 months ago? I have not heard a word either. Perhaps he's really backed up especially with COVID? Have heard that he is selective about
which patients he takes but not sure exactly what criteria he uses for that.

Thanks, ChristianWithLyme. I'm sorry that you've had the same experience. I started to believe that it was based on selectivity after my second try. Perhaps I wasn't considered ill enough back in the fall and this time it's because I'm now being treated by someone else? Unsure. I'm glad that others are getting his care, though.

I like my current LLPA, and she was willing to try Dr. M's protocol so we're proceeding with that (with possible modifications). Would that be something you could do with your current doctor? I have info from previous posts regarding his protocol I could send you and there is an informative webinar on youtube by Dr. M.

What is Doctor M's protocol and/or approach?
Thank you

Dr M treats with Rifabutin and I think Biaxin.
But (if I’m remembering) - he starts his patients on Rifampin which is usually easier to tolerate.
Here is a good video to watch

i think a lot of the well known LLMD's are over subscribed
my partner and i applied to sign up with Dr H once - got a letter saying they were full up and there was a wait list of 12 months - 2years later i think we got a letter saying they were taking new patients - but by that time we had committed to self treating out of necessity
i get the impression anyone offering bart treatment specialism is particularly in demand
