From mid-april (I was bitten by a tick early april) to now i've had a ton of new and strange symptoms progress. Derealization, brain fog, confusion, and this month it's severe fatigue. Past few days I've developed joint pain.

But the strangest symptom is my eyes zoning out. Has anyone with Lyme ever experienced this? Trying to rule some things out. It's like I need to stare into space constantly. By default, my eyes are out of focus and I have to refocus them many times a minute.

I had a negative ELISA test but looking for some further testing in and around Louisville, KY.

A known tickbite plus subsequent symptoms is all you need to get treatment.
There is a high percent of false negatives with lyme testing.

You have the best chance irradicating it and it not becoming a chronic infection IF you treat ASAP.
It is still a relatively new infection.

Never expected "phosphene" as a screen name.

I have neural vision damage and "see" light in a dark room on sound stimulation.

I hear a sound and see a flash. Known as "phosphene".

It may be your vision issues are related to lyme but bartonella really tears into the eyes. I believe bart is damaging blood vessels and blood supply to nerves as well as blood vessel overgrowth in the eyes causing floaters.

If you have a personal physician get them to order a Galaxy labs bart test, pay for it out of pocket. Treat as indicated.

phosphene do you mean that your eyes constantly roll back up? Like you said, sometimes many times a minute.

Kind of like a character out of a horror movie right? I'm asking because I have this symptom too.

I thought I was the only one.

I tested positive for Lyme several years ago and have been treating it since.

However, I do not recall exactly when I first got Lyme, so up until your post just now I wasn't sure if the eye thing was related. But I guess it is now that you've mentioned it.

I get it worse when I'm fatigued, do you have that too?

ELISA tests miss a majority of Lyme cases. I had lots of negative ELISAs early on, too.

Neurological symptoms like you describe are very common with Lyme. Fatigue and joint pain are major red flags. I'm really glad that you are seeking out treatment from a LLMD!

I have the eye-focus issue, although not as often as you describe.
