Dry herbs with antibiotic treatment.

Going to start adding dry herbs (capsules) to my antibiotic regimen. How and when should I be taking the herbals along side antibiotics?

yep - the following can all aid ABX, absorption, distribution, and penetration

-licorice ( read up and be careful about taking thsi long term)
-Chinese Skullcap - v safe herb
-Japanese knotweed - very safe herb ( eaten as a food )

very few significant interactions between herbs and abx that i can recall

the CYP450 is a group of detoxification enzymes in the liver - some medications and herbs speed up or slow down this mechanism - which can increase the rate of excretion of other things that use the same pathway - or slow it down.
(for instance - this is the mechanism that makes Rifampicin lower blood levels of doxycycline when they are taken in combination).

however, this interaction is usually more significant in terms of a herb or drug interacting with another delicately balanced medication you are already taking - such as a blood pressure medication or blood-thinning medication, rather than herbs and antibiotics.

looks like a pretty good combination and relevant dosage for Lyme - that's good for an off the shelf product and at a reasonable price point.
seems like they have updated their formulation to include a few more herbs also

never too sure what to make of the 10:1 or 20:1 concentrated extracts
