Which infection is this???

Hi everyone. Having lots of weird symptoms that don’t really feel exactly like Lyme to me. It feels like a big mystery. I found bullseye rash end of August and initially had typical early Lyme symptoms like fever, muscle pain, headache and stiff neck. I went on antibiotics right away and things got a lot better. Then I stopped Malarone due to extreme nausea. A couple of weeks later, this is what I have going on:
-profuse drenching night sweats for the past week or so. This is brand new symptom.
-I’ve had four migraines with aura (loss of vision I’m one eye) in the past week. Also brand new symptom.
-Sensitivity to light. Wearing sunglasses indoors.
-Headaches in back of head.
-strange nerve pain kind of right behind my ears with some jaw pain.

Symptoms that I’ve typically experienced with tick borne illness historically that I am not currently experiencing:
-fevers
-twitching
-weird creepy crawly sensations under skin
-muscle pain
-muscle weakness
-generally feeling sick (I currently am still totally able to work and exercise)
-cracking joints

So is what I’m experiencing babesia? Or something more hormonal? Can’t figure it out.... neither can my doctors. I’m also Igenex FISH positive for Babesia.... but I’ve been positive for this for a long time and have been mostly a symptomatic.

You stopped treating with the Babesia med and you got worsening of symptoms - including Babesia symptoms.

Seems like a slam dunk to me - wish mine were text book like that.

Yes, I do. I finally heard back from from
Him today. And he is certain it’s babesia. He is suggesting a two day drug treatment called Tefanoquine. He’s had only a had a handful of patients try it. So the numbers aren’t the most reassuring for me. I tend to be sensitive and I don’t want to try a new medicine without lots of experience from others.

I’m going to be getting liposomal malrarone and that preparation supposedly helps with GI issues.

I’ve had it done before. I’m worried about a 15 day half life. Sounds potentially miserable if there are side effects.

- Sounds like you will be getting back on Malarone, too, so maybe this is a new 2 drug combo he’s doing.

Anyone try clindamycin for babesia? I'm starting It up again today and I know I'm in for one hell of a ride. I had it as a child and didn't know at the time of my tick bite that I could have babesia. I had an increase in anxiety more like panic fear hyperventilating and sweating this really intense fear of like doom and dread. Anyone ever experience this. I know fear is a predominant sign of bart as well. I'm so nervous to start up clindo again. I just picked up extra hrs at work to pay for a good enough llmd. I manage this on my own because $ and an llmd wasn't an option for me at that time
