I am not new here, I changed the nick to reflect me better, I was Duza before. We, both my daughter and me, have Lyme & co.
My daughter has been treated for Lyme, Mycoplasma, and Babesia for last 2 years. She is getting better with treatment. However, 4 months ago she started having loud pulsing sound in her left ear that doesn’t go away. Our LLND didn’t have a case with pulsatile tinnitus before. Last month she went to Ear and Nose Specialist and they couldn’t find anything wrong, she had MRI done, nothing. She is waiting for a visit to neurologist, but in our state, it may take a year to get to neurologist. For her tinnitus is very debilitating, it limits her already limited by illness life.
I’ve read all the posts here on tinnitus. I see that the etiology can be varied. A friend, who is an Internist mentioned that it can be caused by malaria medications and Plaquenil. My daughter is still on Plaquenil and before she was on Mepron.
I also have tinnitus, regular. I started having more than 3 years ago, before treatment. I think mine was caused by a loud concert I attended. I think it is permanent, but I got use to it. I even like it when I go to sleep, it is like white noise, lulling me to sleep. Ha, ha.
However, my question is, can pulsatile tinnitus get better? She needs hope! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.
