Hi Guys!

My current LLND seems to be not very experienced in treating Lyme. Aside from a modified barebones Cowden/Buhner protocol (Cats Claw/ Otoba Bark / J. Knotweed / Burbur-Pinella) + Glutathione, he doesn't seem to know how to get me better. Consequentially, I'm asking if any of you have any recommendations for a good LLMD/Naturopath/Herbalist for the treatment of Lyme/Co-infections! I am looking for someone who is well versed with the various complications that can befall lyme patients (gut problems, MCAS, detox problems), and preferably one who treats with herbals, not antibiotics.

I know we are not allowed to share names on this forums, but feel free to email me personally with any suggestions, if you have any!

With COVID-19 and Telemedicine, anyone on the East Coast would be fine (NY/PA/CT/NJ).

I have no recommendations. However, I wanted to share my observation. The doctors I have been to and the ones who talk openly about treatment (MD’s, ND’s, DO’s) tend to only use Cowden or Byron White Formulas. IMO, Cowden’s tinctures are highway robbery prices and BWF, from what I have read from others’ experiences, are either way too strong and herx-provoking, or they do nothing.

Naturopaths or chiropractors may use DesBio or homeopathy.

I am not aware of any practitioners other than Buhner recommended herbalists who treat using Buhner’s protocols. His partner, Julie McIntyre, does do phone appointments. Some people here in the past consulted with her.

You may have to get two practitioners to get the best of what you’re looking for - a good doc to deal with all the peripheral issues and an experienced Buhner herbalist. Or get a doc for peripherals and try treating yourself herbally with Buhner’s books and help from the forum.

Thank you for the advice! My gut is telling me you are 100% correct in your analysis.

I was under the impression Julie McIntyre was no longer giving consults - if I am mistaken, I will be first in line to schedule one! I guess, at the end of the day, I am trying to find comfort in knowing that someone who really knows what they are doing is treating me.

Sadly, that may be too much to ask for. This is a criminally under-researched disease sad

I know of some LLMDs int he Boston area that treat using Buhner and have a broad knowledge base beyond pharma. Let me know if Boston is too far for you.

Wow!! That’s great, sara. I didn’t know there were LLMD’s who use Buhner. That’s surprising, really.
