I heard about
this on a Chris Kesser podcast when I first went keto, and got all scared.
Couldn’t really find any supporting evidence other than it being mentioned in a few spots as a possibility, based off the research of one guy. It doesn’t sound right to me, and if it were, anecdotal reports would pop up all over, but I’ve never seen it.
In addition, there was a member here named Pirouette here who did a 30 day water only fast. I remember her saying that at day 17 or day 18, mucus, which was dead candida, starting spewing out of her mouth as the yeasts all died. Now she wasn’t eating carbs, and wasn’t eating anything actually. But her body was running on something, which I assume was ketones as it broke down fat. The candida clearly couldn’t survive on them. You can probably find her post if you looked.
