Sorry for posting so much - it seems like I just have so many new questions every time something in my health shifts, and this site seems like the best place to ask these questions...
Anyways - have any of you ever experienced issues processing foods high in sulfur? If so, what do you think the cause was? How did it impact you healing from lyme?
I've recently discovered that eliminating high-sulfur veggies, and cutting down on meat, has eliminated some of my internal feelings of toxicity after eating. As great as this is, I feel the need to figure out why this is happening, as it might point to an underlying problem that needs to be addressed.
In researching, I have found sulfur intolerance linked to SIBO, high levels of mercury, CBS/SUOX Gene dysfunction, and nutrient deficiencies.
Now I don't even know where to start! I suspect my sulfur intolerance is linked to one of the problems above, which has kept me from detoxing effectively so far. I guess I will have to look into each of these issues separately, but I thought I'd ask this community about what their experience has been.
