Hello to all my old friends,
I have missed our communications. I needed to be off board for a bit. Happy to report that my son and I were (are?) doing much, much better. My son was almost in remission, 99.9% there - woo hoo. What a long, strange trip its been. We both had Covid end of March 2020. The good news is that our bodies are/were stronger because we never needed hospitalization. Not so great news is that the new viral load really knocked us back, especially my son. Fatigue, muscle aches are some of our 'long haul' symptoms. Luckily sense of smell has returned. My son finished high school (another woo hoo) and is starting college (God willing) in September. The college is asking that all students be vaccinated. I'm sure this question has been discussed: Has anyone with late stage/chronic LD received a Covid vaccine? Looking for some positive stories here. Thanks and a special shout out to Trav, Girlie, Peetza and the numerous others who were our life rafts. So much gratitude to all of you who have selflessly helped us and so many others.
Hello Huddie!
I am debating the vaccine question myself. I am now working in a Long-term care home...and we will be offered the vaccine soon. I'm on the fence.
I'm concerned that due to having chronic lyme...my immune system might not handle the vaccine well.
PLUS - I don't always get the vaccines that others' get anyway ...ie the yearly flu shot....for one.
Good to hear from you....and that is great that your son is 99.9% healed re: lyme!!!!!
