I did try that a few times treating bartonella, short period of time it helped reduce herxes and reactions to eating food, but now knowing what I know now, you have to eat and drink water to help the body detox. Even noticed after knocking bartonella back, eating granolla helps me detox leftovers after a batonella herx. But if you're still in earlier stages of treating lyme, too many carbs can be a no no. Water has always been the best to help me detox, all I drink most of the time, even though I do use a no carb almond milk for my cereal and a glass of regular milk once and awhile. Of course using a table spoon of baking soda with the water can really flush the kidneys. Or Dr. H uses gold alka seltzer tabs with some lemon juice... Or just baking soda a squeezed lemon.
Wish there was a way around herxing and detoxing, but that's how you get better with chronic lyme, so water is a must!
