Can anyone relate ?

Hello this is my first time on this forum. I have a unique symptom and I don’t know what it could be. I’m not even sure if it’s Lyme but I did test positive for Lyme confirmed by an id doctor. It started last March. The symptom I’m talking about is a flu like malaise. Basically I feel very unwell. I have to reiterate that this is not fatigue... I am not tired just feeling very sick. It also kind of feels like a toxic poisoned malaise feeling. Just wondering if anyone can relate to these symptoms ?

Yep. That's a very common symptom with tick-borne illnesses, chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalomyelitis, fibromyalgia, and many other chronic illnesses that are poorly-understood and inadequately addressed by our mainstream medical systems. Our bodies very often are in feedback loops of dysfunction and/or are overloaded with toxicity. Some people find that symptom worsens for a while when they treat Lyme with antimicrobials because of the endotoxins from bacterial die-off building up, and then eventually improves. Others need to treat mold toxicity, mast cell activation syndrome, mitochondrial issues, immune dysregulation, nervous system dysfunction, HPA axis imbalances, liver toxicity, digestive ailments, or other issues before it improves.

What did you do to address Lyme when you were diagnosed with it? Did you have a recent tick bite around that time?

the id doc wil steer u toward the isda guidelines. this is usually not enough for borrelia and company please see ilads guidelines and follow up with a llmd or continue treatment on your own to avoid complications.

i have the same thing - its just immune system upregulation (inflammation) against chronic infection - can persist for a while
