Oh, my gosh, Girlie! I saw a dove the other day unlike any I had ever seen. Most doves are a light gray. This one was an exquisite tannish creamy color. I tried to get a picture, but it moved away too fast.

The neighborhood we moved to is just wonderful. It’s the kind of place I had always dreamed about and never thought I would live in. The people are really nice and friendly, and so are their pets!! I have met a couple of neighborhood cats and dogs. One cat, named Sunny, basically invited me to cross the street and meet him, LOL!!! Now I look for him when I pass by. Someone else’s dog followed my mom and I home from our walk one night and kept walking around sniffing everything and looking at us like he was talking to us. He was so cute!!

So happy for you that you have a friendly neighbourhood to live in.
We have lived in our home for 29 years now and have decided that we won’t be moving - will live the rest of our lives here.
We have good neighbours - several have been here for many years too.

My son even says he likes to come “home” to the house he was raised in.

We’ve decided to do some upgrades - new flooring being the priority now that we bought new appliances several months ago.
(Learning how to use the oven/stove was a bit of a challenge )

Many years ago our family was going on vacation - destination was a 6 hour drive plus a 2 hour ferry ride.
Part way thru the drive hubby pulled over to check something on the trailer we were pulling.
I noticed a huge field and some cows in the distance.
I went over to the fence hoping they would come closer. I had some apples in the trailer so I went up to the fence and one cow came over and took it from my hand.
Then one by one the entire herd wandered over for an apple.

Every now and again - my husband will refer to me as the “cow whisperer”

The cow story is incredible!! I would have been in heaven. Every time I go on a road trip and see farm animals, I get giddy with excitement and act like a little kid! Even when I see a dog in a car, I can’t resist pointing and saying, “doggie, doggie.”

i think their mothers leave them in the undergrowth while the go off to feed - and this one had obviously got a bit restless - and decided to have a bit of a look around.

Your cat looks like my sweet Petunia that I had to put to sleep right after Christmas. She was white with orange circles like that. Her hair was as soft as rabbit fur.

its a young weasel - a member of the Mustelids family, related to stoats, ferrets, polecats etc - but only 8inches long fully grown - as i bent down to tie my boot laces in preparation for my daily walk yesterday - it ran across the grass in front on me and jumped into the hole between the spokes of my car wheel and stayed in there looking out - about 2 feet from my face!

I was thinking about this thread today. Since spotting bunnies in the neighborhood, we have discovered a baby bunny apparently living in our backyard. I have started calling him Bunnykins.

I have seen so many creatures lately. On an evening walk a couple of weeks ago, my mom and I saw a pair of bunnies, 2 snakes, and a tree that had been struck by lightning.

Then, last week we were sitting in restaurant having lunch when someone pointed out a mouse outside the window. The poor little mouse was huddled in the corner shaking and scared half to death. We had had a lot of rain the day before. I figured his house must have gotten flooded and he was exposed and scared. I felt so sorry for him, I prayed God would protect him and help him get safely home.

Today, a man was outside the grocery store with 4-5 kittens in a cage in the back of his truck. He said the mama had the kittens in his yard and he wanted to get them to good homes. They were adorable.
