Getting vaxed in a few hours - questions

Everyone is saying to get the shot in the left arm if you’re right handed.

My left side is my bad side - still have residual pain that never did fully resolve with treatment.
It’s not bad but enough to concern me.

I’m requesting the shot in my right arm.
I know that I will be sore for a few hours or even days.
Any reason not to get the jab in the right arm?
I am driving myself to the clinic.
The pain/stiffness won’t be THAT bad - right?

My arm hurt at the injection site for two months, but not badly enough to interfere with my ability to use the arm at any point. Some people have trouble moving the arm for a day or two, but usually it's just sore and feels a little throbby and warm.

I'm pretty sure that, as a person who has mostly recovered from Lyme after years of treatment, you will find many people's complaints of temporary discomfort sound a bit overly dramatic. Like, it hurt to brush your teeth? You poor dear. Try a bad herx sometime. ;)

(I don't actually mean to make fun of anyone who is in pain, and I know there's no pain Olympics we're all competing in. I just mean to be encouraging. You got this, Girlie.)

Lyme will bring the strongest to their knees!

I will be fine - just don’t like the idea of putting this potion into my body.

I’m vaccinated.

The lady was really nice - asked me about Lyme. She waited til the dose was warmed up - I had told her I had a fear of needles/shots.
We talked about Lyme disease.

Now just waiting 15 minutes before allowed to leave.

Arm isn’t sore yet.

Th nurse asked me if I had been traumatized when I was a child re: vaccines (wondering why I was so nervous about it) and I thought about it for a minute and said “yes”.
I realized then that was probably why I have such a fear of needles.
I had a bad experience when I was about 4 or 5 .
The doctor never prepared me - he just jabbed the needle really hard into my arm and I started to cry because it hurt. He didn’t try to calm me or say it wouldn’t hurt for long.

After that I dreaded vaccinations.
It’s never left me.

This nurse was so kind about it - that’s all it took - a little kindness

Hi Girlie....can I assume your LLMD said it was safe to get vaxed if you have Lyme? I have Lyme and Bart....and I have yet to talk to my LLMD about it....but I talked to another Lymie and her doctor told her to stay away from the vax...instead....she is on a host of herbs/protocols to keep her "safe" or minimize the impact if she were to get Covid

No, my llmd said not to get the shot.
He says without longitudinal studies we don’t know how it will affect us down the road
He gave me a prescription for Ivermectin (which I filled) to use prophylactically or as treatment if I get it.

But I caved - between the rules at the long term care facility I work at and my son pressuring me…
Oh.. and possible travel restrictions …
Hubby was fine with whatever I chose.
