Hello to everyone who might open this thread.

It is being created with the intention to connect people who relate to Lyme Disease, for emotional support, inspiration, non judgemental sharing, jokes and what-not. All in the spirit of reading and writing from the heart, welcoming what emerges, in relation to what we feel and/or need in a certain moment.

On a personal note: I live in a Western European country, my diagnosis was done in a different European country and I feel quite lonely in my journey for over 3 years. I feel like peer connection, in good doses, may have healing properties so I venture into this invitation to the forum members.

Hi Wild Teasel!
I love your screen name! I've been really looking at the wild teasel that grows in my area in hopes of finding good, safe seeds to bring to my property to plant!!

I've been infected with Lyme and company several times, and would agree that peer support is important! That's why I was a part of this forum for many years. It sure helped me in many ways. Although I am not currently dealing with these infections, I still come by to see if I might be of help somehow.

i am in the UK and diagnosis and treatment for chronic Lyme through the conventional health system here is near non-existent.
Speaking with a GP or infectious disease consultant about possible co-infections is tantamount to being asked to be sectioned.

it is indeed very isolating, but there are a surprising number of people going through this - and many other similar chronic health conditions that are either not believed or not treated appropriately in the conventional health system.

Thank you so much for replying on this thread, for the compliment on my screen name and for sharing your own experience.

I feel quite isolated because of not knowing anyone in person who deals or has dealt with Lyme Disease. Then, I set the intention to seek out for peer connection in possible ways, which now days means online, but keep falling into hardness of doing that. Typing is not my favourite activity, since I got ill and tiredness and tendency for depression make me neglect the initial intention.

I hope you can find good wild teasel seeds and that they prosper in your land! Maybe one day you may share a photo of that smile

Do you know someone else in the UK with Lyme?

In a world that's turning digital in every sense, I miss the possibility to seat face-to-face with someone who's going through this.
Every time I came to the forum, it was with the wish for connection, but it's difficult to stay consistent to see if there's any results from that.
Also, as I mentioned on my reply to the Traveler, typing get in the way...
