Thank you Garzie, your help and encouragement is very much appreciated.
I finished my MOTS-c schedule. The reason I made the schedule this soon after my last comment is because I've already started the MOTS-c as of January 19th. So I don't want to lose the momentum. Granted, I did not rush the schedule and took a lot of things into consideration.
So this will be my schedule:
Monday - 7 mg
Wednesday - 7 mg
Friday - 7 mg
This schedule I will repeat weekly during my Lyme and Bartonella treatment. I might decide to take a break after a couple or few months, but I haven't decided on that yet. Granted, I still have a while to think about
that as it doesn't apply as of right now.
I've taken lot's of things into consideration. Both studies and people's experiences that I've found online.
Scary fact: on some other forums (not this one) some people go overboard with a lot higher doses than I mentioned above in my schedule. Which, in my opinion, is unnecessary. Although it was nice to see that they didn't have any bad side effects even at those very high doses.
So all of that said, here were the sources I've used:
------
Source #1 : Taylor made compounding (see their catalog on the first page of this thread) wrote this schedule: Suggested dosage: Inject 10mg subcutaneously weekly into the abdomen.
I felt that was on the lower side, due to what I've noticed myself and other reports also. I have to keep in mind that I have Lyme + Bartonella and therefore have a big issue, as opposed to other people who might take it for less serious issues than Lyme. Also the once a week thing didn't feel right, which leads me to the next source...
------
Source #2 : Dr. William Seeds wrote in his book Peptide Protocols, Volume 1 the following: 5 mg of MOTS-C injected subcutaneously 3 times per week on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule for 4-6 weeks, followed by a once-a-week dose of 5 mg for 4 weeks.
This seemed more reasonable to me, and I'll be using the W-M-F schedule that's mentioned here. However, the 5 mg still didn't sit right with me.
------
Source #3 : From this study:
https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-020-20790-0"We fed young mice (CD-1) a HFD (60% calories from fat) and treated them with 2 doses of MOTS-c (5 and 15 mg/kg/day; IP; Supplementary Fig. 3a)."
So this in my opinion is WAY too high (5-15 mg
per KG per day) 😳. Also, I'm not a mouse haha and I wouldn't be able to afford this regardless. But even if I could afford it, I've read many people having benefits from a LOT lower doses, so this is not needed regardless of the money.
I think this study is actually part of the reason why some people use extreme doses. But people might forget that some studies use high doses so the result are easier to observe and don't always translate to human clinical doses.
------
Source #4 : So this is not really a source but just from the experiences that I read online. Which is simply that some people prefer higher doses and some lower. I would link the reviews here if I remembered where I had read all of them scattered over the internet. So this is just from my memory and should be taken with a grain of salt.
------
So those are the 4 sources I took into consideration.
In short: I won't be mega-dosing, but I am going to take a bit more than the first 2 sources, due to my severe fatigue caused by Lyme and Bartonella.
ps. I took my Monday dose just now.
