Yes, I believe it's the ticket to herd immunity, if we allow early treatment and protect the vulnerable.

its tempting to draw those conclusions - but some of the other variant that have had increased mortality also replicated less than original variants in the lung tissue - so its not as clear cut as it seems.

i think the idea that omicron is less severe than other variants came originally from the early data from south africa - but the population it was in there was highly skewed towards young people - and so it was no surprise that the severity was on average lower in that population - and it does not tell us that it will be less severe in more general populations.

i hope this does prove to be the case - and omicron is less virulent - just think its too early to tell

WBF I have been out of the loop lately and did not even know that you having symptoms I hope you are doing ok. Maybe you mentioned it but were you vaccinated? I still have not been and am worried to get it because of my mthfr mutation and past reactions to vaccines. I am sending you healing energy!

Hey! Thanks for asking. I am fine now. I tested negative for COVID and flu on the rapid response test and negative for COVID by PCR. It felt like what I imagine a mild case of COVID might be like. Maybe it really wasn’t COVID. Hard to know for sure.

I am not vaccinated and have no intention of getting vaccinated. My onset of Lyme symptoms/chronic immune dysfunction began 4 days after a flu vaccine in 2009. I think it was the 2nd flu vaccine I ever had. I did have another flu vaccine and PneumoVax in 2015, after my immune system went off the cliff following a respiratory infection. I was still undiagnosed at the time.

That’s not the only reason I won’t be getting this vaccine. I am very thankful that I knew what my convictions were early on and have not felt the pressure, confusion, and coercion that so many have given into over this situation.

So glad that you are doing better! That is so discouraging that your Lyme symptoms started after getting the flu shot, do you know if you have the MTHFR mutation? I can’t remember where you live but where I am in NYS I heard there might be an adult mandate which is so upsetting, I am glad you are doing good though, I was worried when I saw your post! It's great that you are feeling better. I'm also vaccine-free and rather work on my immune system and take antivirals when getting the smallest cold symptom.

UPDATE 1/17/22:

I was looking back at my posts detailing my experience with what I believe was COVID and realized I did not mention something important. I could have sworn I posted about it, but it’s not in this post.

During the first 3 days of this virus, my normal Lyme symptoms all but disappeared.

When I saw my primary care doctor early this month, I told him about the illness and mentioned this. You should have seen the look on his face. He nearly fell out of his chair when I told him my normal symptoms disappeared during the early part of the illness.

I remember that discussion, though not exactly who contributed to it, but I believe you did. I don't see it now. Perhaps it disappeared.

IAC, the same thing happened to me. Lyme symptoms disappeared.

BTW, why did your doctor react that way?

You’re right, Paul. I found it. It was in a separate post entitled “Post Virus Observations.”

I don’t know why the doctor acted that way. He doesn’t know Lyme. The doctors around here know next to nothing and seem to have precious little thought process or imagination. They don’t really have any concept of chronic immune dysregulation or systemic dysfunction.

The virus seems to suppress the immune response initially, so it's not really surprising that immune-related symptoms disappear.

Once I blocked the virus with antivirals, within a few hours my immune system went totally nuts over it.
