I took a B complex on and off for years, but for some reason a few months ago had my first niacin flush. Is there any chance that's the sort of reaction you are having? It felt very similar to MCAS to me - hot skin, red blotchy rashes, fast heart rate, brain fog, headache, a little dizzy. I read that a niacin flush is more likely with high doses, on an empty stomach, etc. but none of those factors had changed for me, so something else must have triggered my sensitivity to it.
I'm also flaring since a booster I got last week (Pfizer). I had a bad but typical acute reaction - fever, headache, body aches, etc. - but felt fine after about 36 hours. The next day, I developed wooziness, POTS, PEM, a different type of headache, muscle and nerve weirdness, etc. I've gotten this type of reaction following a virus before as well, with the acute symptoms passing just fine but then afterward developing this "post-viral syndrome." My initial vaccine (J&J) didn't have any lingering effects, so I'm hoping this passes soon! Definitely feels like MCAS is involved, so I have increased my MCAS-related treatment. My doctor also said to increase glutathione. I do not regret getting the booster, as I'm confident that my reaction to COVID and its aftermath would be far worse!
